Collapse in the service of the Metro in CDMX

Today, Friday, April 18, 2025, the Mexico City Metro (CDMX) is facing problems in several of its lines due to delays caused by changes in the schedule of the Collective Transportation System (STC).

On Line 1 (Pink), trains are reported to have stops between stations and a waiting time of 6 to 8 minutes. On Line 2 (Blue), there is good progress but also high demand, with a waiting time of 7 minutes. The Zócalo/Tenochtitlan station is operating normally.

Line 3 (Green) is experiencing problems with train departures from the bases, resulting in a waiting time of more than 9 minutes. On Line 4, despite having low demand, slow service is recorded with more than 7 minutes of waiting. Line 5 (Yellow) is experiencing high demand at several stations, so it is recommended to secure belongings when entering the platform.

On the other hand, Line 12 (Gold) shows slow progress and difficulties in train departures, with a waiting time of more than 7 minutes. On Line A, trains are full but making good progress, while on Line B there is high overcrowding of passengers and stops between stations.

Actions have been taken to remove an object from the tracks on Line 9, which has expedited train circulation on that line. This has caused slowness in train departures, overcrowding on platforms and cars in multiple lines.

The situation in Line 3 also stands out, which has a high influx of passengers due to delays from the bases, with a waiting time of 7 to 8 minutes. Overall, the majority of the lines are experiencing problems of overcrowding and slow service, leading to recommendations to seek alternate routes.
